Interior
The new S-MAX interior boasts premium levels of craftsmanship, with new interior fabrics and design details giving an overall premium feel to the cabin. This first-class ambience is complemented by new LED interior lighting, a panorama roof* with a one piece electrically powered sun blind and a multi-functional overhead console with ample stowage.
The new S-MAX continues to excel in class-beating practicality and flexibility, as you're able to configure the layout according to your family's needs. The folding second-row seats give extra flexibility by tilting and adjusting forwards and backwards. In addition, third-row seats can be operated effortlessly and fold flat in just a few seconds.
Another new feature to keep you entertained and enhance driving comfort is the Ford Premium Sound System. State-of-the-art speakers, pin-sharp acoustics and ample power deliver unrivalled audio sound quality. Also available is a Sony DAB system and integration with a choice of satellite navigation systems. Plus, there's an improved climate control system, which now features a new ventilated temperature and humidity sensor for even more precise control of cabin air.

The new S-MAX features a range of Ford ECOnetic technologies including PowerShift and EcoBoost.
The smooth Ford PowerShift transmission, together with the new 2.0-litre EcoBoost SCTi engine, deliver an impressive combined fuel economy of 34.8 mpg (local markets to up-date). If you choose the updated 2.0-litre TDCi Duratorq diesel version you'll benefit from an outstanding 49.5 mpg. Better still, none of this is at the expense of performance.
In fact, compared to the 2.3-litre Duratec petrol engine, the 2.0-litre EcoBoost SCTi EcoBoost petrol version produces 25% more power, while also delivering 19% lower emissions and a 20% improvement in fuel consumption. The numbers speak for themselves. However, there's so much more to this sporty, aerodynamic and versatile 7-seater.
S-MAX is also one of the first Ford vehicles to feature the Blind Spot Information System to warn drivers of vehicles in their blind spot area. The new Adjustable Speed Limiting Device has its own obvious driving and safety advantages.
Also available for the first time on the new S-MAX is the Ford Key Free System, as well as the award-winning Ford Easy Fuel capless refuelling system.
