The new Ford C-MAX will be the first in the next-generation of MAVs, all conceived, engineered and built on a common platform.
The new C-MAX is comprehensively redesigned to be even more family-friendly than its predecessor. While the sporty feel and coupé looks give the new C-MAX an updated, contemporary profile you'll still enjoy many of the original qualities of manoeuvrability and agility, plus roominess and practicality.
An innovation for families that need more space, the new Grand C-MAX has an ingenious 7-seat layout. So, deciding whether you require the more spacious model could be your only dilemma, because both models provide supreme comfort, surprising technologies and more responsive, lower CO2-emitting engines.

New Grand C-MAX A family car that offers exceptional style, functionality and interior refinement together with optimised performance and lower emissions. The new C-MAX is set to raise the bar in the compact Multi Activity Vehicle (MAV) segment in 2010.
The new 7-seat Grand C-MAX has a longer wheelbase and a higher roofline compared to the new 5-seat C-MAX. Plus, the generously proportioned interior feels lighter, elegant and more spacious. The twin sliding doors provide easy access, particularly in narrow parking bays and when child seats are fitted. They're also neatly integrated, with the rail cleverly concealed by the shoulder line of the vehicle.
For even greater versatility, the 2+3+2 seating can be easily reconfigured into a 2+2+2 layout. This ingenious design enables the middle second-row seat to quickly fold away to create a handy walk-through space. It's another helpful innovation that improves rear passenger comfort and practicality.
When you need cavernous capacity, the second - and third-row seats fold to provide a completely flat load floor. Better still, reconfiguring the interior is an easy task because all the mechanisms are designed to operate effortlessly.
New C-MAX Ford kinetic Design has restyled the new C-MAX. The hallmark touches include the rising character line, bold wheel lips and strong athletic shoulders, plus the distinctive kick-up of the window at the C-pillar.
Contemporary looks are reflected by some cutting-edge and surprising technologies. For example, when you activate the parallel parking system it automatically manoeuvres you into the tightest space.
The new C-MAX interior mirrors the dynamic and modern exterior, complete with expressive shapes and bold curves. Fresh design touches include the wing-like form of the upper instrument panel, which envelopes the driver and sweeps dramatically to accentuate the centre console area.
Interior design You'll discover the new C-MAX demonstrates the Ford kinetic Design language throughout the cabin, mirroring the dynamic character of the exterior.
The driving experience is enhanced by the cockpit layout. Common to both C-MAX models, it provides a commanding, raised driving position with high-mounted gearshift and centre console. The sweeping lines of the instrument panel and central console area are complemented by easy-to-master controls and pin-sharp instrument clarity.
Beyond the technology, you'll find practical touches that make the new C-MAX the perfect family vehicle. Carefully designed stowage areas are located throughout the cabin, including generous door pockets, a large glovebox, and additional compartments and cupholders in the centre console.
The new 5-seat C-MAX also keeps the same successful seating arrangement of the current model with three individual 40/20/40 folding seats. There's also the optional layout which allows the outer seats to slide diagonally backwards and inwards to create a luxurious 2+2 layout.
Lower CO2 emissions Ford ECOnetic technologies enhance the performance and fuel economy of the new C-MAX.
The new C-MAX is among the first to include the new EcoBoost petrol engines. They're responsive, capable and efficient, while generating greater performance than their predecessors. In fact, they're improving fuel consumption and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 20%, compared to equivalent larger conventional engines.
At the same time, award-winning TDCi Duratorq diesel engines have been upgraded, achieving significant improvements in CO2 emissions. Available in 140 PS and 163 PS versions, both deliver improvements of up to 10% in fuel consumption in addition to advances in power, performance and quieter running.
As you might expect, the latest TDCi engines also meet the stringent European stage V emissions standards. A diesel particulate filter, which is maintenance-free for the life of the vehicle, is also fitted as standard to ensure cleaner running.
The new C-MAX will also feature the option of Ford's latest high efficiency PowerShift, six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. It delivers a seamless driving experience, which can also improve fuel economy by up to 10%, when compared to a conventional automatic transmission system. |
